Abstract
Blockchain technology is garnering a lot of interest in a number of agricultural applications. The various needs in the agricultural product ecosystem could potentially be met by these applications. For example, enhancing contract exchanges, tracing the source of food safety, improving transaction efficiency, and so on. Achieving the best trade-off between the efficiency and integrity of agricultural management systems as needed in different contexts is crucial because the intricate farm-to-fork pipeline involves numerous untrusted parties, such as small-scale farmers, food processors, logistic companies, distributors, and retailers. In this study, is to offer a survey to investigate blockchain technology applications and approaches utilized in the agriculture industry. The technical components—such as data structures and consensus mechanisms—are first thoroughly discussed. Second, to show how blockchain techniques are used, the agricultural blockchain applications that are now in use are categorized and reviewed. Furthermore, the smart contract and well-known platforms are offered to demonstrate how practitioners utilize them to create these agricultural applications. Lastly it fosters the main obstacles that many future agricultural systems must overcome and talk about the initiatives and possible fixes for these issues.
